Who we are
Counsel Code designs and builds operating systems for professional service firms. This policy covers counselcode.com. Questions go to info@counselcode.com.
What we collect
Information you give us. Our contact form collects your name, email address, firm name, industry, team size, and — optionally — a short description of where your team loses time. Nothing else is required, and we do not ask for a phone number or payment details anywhere on this site.
How you got here. When you arrive from an ad or a link, we record the campaign parameters in the URL (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, fbclid), the page you landed on, and the referring website. This is stored alongside your enquiry so we know which advertising is working.
Technical information. When you submit the form, our server receives your IP address and browser user agent, as any web server does.
Cookies and advertising
We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. It sets two cookies — _fbp, a browser identifier, and _fbc, which records that you arrived from a Facebook or Instagram ad. We use them to measure whether our advertising produces real enquiries.
We also send those same events to Meta from our server through the Conversions API, which is more reliable than the browser alone. When you submit the form, we send Meta a SHA-256 hash of your email address and name — not the plain values — together with your IP address and user agent, so Meta can match the conversion to an ad click. Browser and server events share an identifier so they are counted once, not twice.
We do not sell your information, and we do not upload customer or client lists to any advertising platform.
You can limit this through your browser's cookie settings and through your Meta ad preferences.
Who processes your information
- Supabase — hosts the database where form submissions are stored.
- SendGrid (Twilio) — sends our notification email and your confirmation email.
- Meta Platforms — receives the advertising events described above.
- Vercel — hosts this website.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces on this site, and therefore receives your IP address when a page loads.
Why we may contact you
We use what you submit to respond to your enquiry, to prepare for a call, and to follow up about working together. We do not add you to a marketing list you did not ask for, and we do not share your details with anyone outside the processors listed above.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we may reasonably need them for business and record-keeping purposes. Ask us to delete yours and we will.
Your choices
Email info@counselcode.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we will honour those requests regardless of where you are.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change what we collect or who processes it, we will update this page and the date above.
