Service
AI where it earns its place, and nowhere else.
The useful question is not what AI can do. It is which specific task in your firm is expensive, repetitive, and tolerant of a draft that a person then approves.
Most AI projects in professional service firms fail the same way. They target a task where being wrong is expensive, they are evaluated on a demo rather than on a backlog of real work, and nobody ever measures whether the output was accepted.
We scope the opposite way. We look for work that is high-volume, low-variance and already reviewed by a person — because that review step is what makes the model safe to use at all.
Where it works
- Drafting a first version of a routine document from the firm's own precedents
- Reading an inbound document and extracting the facts that need to reach a system
- Classifying and routing what arrives — mail, forms, messages
- Summarising a long record for someone who has to act on it in five minutes
- Answering internal questions from the firm's own files rather than from the open internet
Where we tell firms not to
- Anything that leaves the firm without a person reading it first
- Decisions with a legal or fiduciary consequence
- Work where the firm cannot say what a correct answer looks like — if you cannot grade it, you cannot improve it
- Routing, retries and deterministic transforms. If ordinary code can answer, ordinary code answers: it is cheaper, faster and it does not drift.
A rule written in a prompt is not a control. If a behaviour matters, it is enforced in code, and the model runs inside it.
What it looks like in practice
A drafting assistant that proposes a reply and the task assignment to go with it, staged as a single card a person approves once. It cannot send anything on its own. Every draft it produces is logged with who approved it, which is what made the firm willing to turn it on.
